Pear Tree, I planted one today

Today was such a beautiful day.  My husband gave me for Valentine's day a Crape Myrtle and a Pear Tree.  I decided to plant them today and take advantage of the beautiful day and the rain that is about to come this weekend.  I didn't realize our yard had so many rocks!!  After two hours of pick axing and waking up the baby, the trees are in!!!!   Now lets hope they do well.   I mixed good soil with the soil I dug up from the hole and took most of the rocks out of the way, added native mulch and watered.   I've learned from experience that planting trees is better in the fall up until mid February, if the weather is still cool.  That way, their roots develop and you will have a stronger tree.  The same goes for most of your shrubs.
